Great Wall at Mutianyu

The Mutianyu Great Wall is one of the best-preserved and best-known Great Wall sections. Watchtowers are densely distributed along the Great Wall. Some of the watchtowers are seldom seen along other sections and are quite rare in the architectural history of the Great Wall. Examples are the Zhengguan Terrace (No. 4 Watchtower) comprised of three hollow watchtowers, and Big Corner Tower (No. 1 Watchtower), named so because only one big corner can be seen from the paths on three sides.
The surrounding natural scenery is breathtaking. Woods cover over ninety-six percent of the total scenic area. Flowers bloom all over the mountains in spring. Grasses dress the hillside green in summer.
Compared with the top-notch Badaling, Great Wall at Mutianyu is less crowded, thus a good destination on hot holidays for a Great Wall tour at ease.
Summer Palace

The Summer Palace in Beijing is a masterpiece of imperial garden design, renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and historical significance. Spanning 2.9 square kilometers, it features the serene Kunming Lake, the majestic Longevity Hill, and a collection of exquisite pavilions and temples. Originally a royal retreat, it offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and architectural splendor. As a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Summer Palace provides visitors with a glimpse into China's regal past and a tranquil escape amidst its lush gardens and reflective waters.

Temple of Heaven

The Temple of Heaven is an exquisite example of ancient Chinese architectural mastery and spiritual harmony. Built in the early 15th century, this iconic complex was once the site where emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties performed solemn ceremonies to pray for good harvests. The temple's circular design symbolizes heaven, while its lush surrounding park offers a serene escape from the city. As a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Temple of Heaven invites visitors to experience its majestic beauty and profound cultural significance, reflecting China's rich historical and spiritual traditions.
Tiananmen Square

Tiananmen Square, the heart of Beijing, is one of the world’s largest public squares and a symbol of China’s historical and political significance. Flanked by the iconic Tiananmen Gate, the majestic Monument to the People’s Heroes, and the grand National Museum of China, the square is a vibrant center of national pride. Its expansive grounds have witnessed pivotal moments in Chinese history, from revolutionary events to contemporary celebrations. Visitors can experience its profound historical importance while enjoying its stunning architectural features and panoramic views.
Coal Hill (Jingshan Park)

Situated in the center of Beijing, Jingshan Park is a beautiful royal landscape garden. Covering an area of 57 acres (about 230,000 square meters), the park stands on the central point of the south-north axis of the city and faces the north gate of the Forbidden City. It is found on Jingshan Hill, which was originally named Wansui Hill (Long Live Hill), Zhen Hill, or Meishan Hill (Coal Hill). The mid-summit of the hill is the highest point in Beijing. Looking from the peak, the visitor can get a full and clear view of the Forbidden City. These five peaks also draw the approximate historical axis of central Beijing. Jingshan Park is a popular place for local people to enjoy their life by doing exercise, singing, dancing, etc.
Hutong

Beijing's hutongs are charming alleys that weave through the city's historic heart, offering a vivid glimpse into traditional life. These narrow streets, lined with quaint courtyards and classic siheyuan (courtyard houses), preserve the essence of old Beijing. Wandering through a hutong reveals a rich tapestry of local culture, from bustling markets to family-run eateries. Each turn unveils stories of past generations and unique architectural features. Embrace the nostalgia and warmth of these ancient lanes to truly connect with Beijing’s heritage and daily rhythms.
